Bamboo Therapy is a marketing website, not a group practice
Bamboo Therapy (bambootherapy.ca) is a shared marketing website intended for marketing and administrative convenience only. It is not a legal partnership, professional corporation, clinic, group practice, or registered health profession entity under Ontario's Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991 (RHPA). Bamboo Therapy is not registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). By using this Platform, you acknowledge that each practitioner listed is a separate, independent business owner who is solely responsible for the clinical care they provide.
Independent practitioners
Each therapist listed on this website is an independently registered Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with CRPO, operating their own individual private practice and with their own professional liability insurance. Your selected therapist is your sole Health Information Custodian (HIC) and is exclusively responsible for the management and retention of your clinical records. Any therapeutic relationship formed is strictly between the client and the individual practitioner selected. No "circle of care" exists between the therapists listed on this Platform. They are not employees of Bamboo Therapy and are not in a clinical partnership or group practice with one another.
Financial Transactions and Billing
All financial transactions are conducted directly between you and your chosen therapist.

This platform does not collect, hold, or process payments on behalf of a collective group.

Fees are set independently by each practitioner and may vary.

Any disputes regarding billing or refunds must be resolved directly with the individual practitioner's business.
The controlled act of psychotherapy
Psychotherapy is a controlled act under the RHPA. It is performed solely by the individual Registered Psychotherapist you engage with, under their own CRPO registration. Bamboo Therapy does not perform, direct, or supervise any controlled act.
Booking — Owl Practice
Appointments are booked through Owl Practice, a third-party practice management platform. The therapists listed here currently share an Owl Practice administrative account for scheduling convenience. However, each therapist's client records are held in a separate, partitioned profile accessible only to that therapist. Receipts and invoices are issued under each therapist's individual name and CRPO registration number.
Your personal health information
Each therapist is the health information custodian of their own clients' personal health information under Ontario's Personal Health Information Protection Act, 2004 (PHIPA). Client records are held by the individual therapist and are not accessible to Bamboo Therapy or to any other therapist listed on this site.
The shared booking platform is used for scheduling purposes only. While the software may be shared, your personal health information (PHI) is isolated:

Booking data is only accessible to the specific therapist you have selected.

The Platform owners do not have access to your clinical notes or session data.
Limitation of Professional liability
Each practitioner carries individual professional liability insurance in their own name. Bamboo Therapy is not a co-insured party for clinical services and accepts no liability for clinical services, advice, or professional conduct of the independent practitioners listed, or for the professional acts or omissions of any practitioner listed on this website.
Use of this site to find a therapist is at the user's own risk and does not constitute an endorsement of any individual provider's specific methods or outcomes.
